Great Spangled Fritillary (Speyeria cybele)

This species is rarely seen at Strawberry Plains Audubon Center. They are visible east of the Appalachian Mountains from Maine to Northern Georgia. However, these do not appear in the Midwest or the Great Plains for some strange reason. Allen (asparks306) and I presented a photo seminar on butterflies, hummingbirds and dragonflies, and, this was one of the 'catches' on the grounds.
