"wake up where the clouds are far behind me"

Inspired by finding Israel Kamakawiwo 'Ole on Youtube and then trying a blended exposure.

View On Black

So two things new for me with this image, I've often heard the technique of one exposure for the sky and then another for the land or sea. So when up at a favourite spot at Longniddry in Scotland I wanted to capture the setting sun and at the same time make the sea milky white. So two exposures, then overlayed the sky onto the correct exposure for the sea!

The overall composition is again something I don't always go for, but I felt the setting sun's rays just had to be captured. I set the image off to the wonderful Hawaiin voice of the late Israel Kamakawiwo 'Ole, whose voice I was familiar with but had no name to it!

So sit back and let "IK" take you to Hawaii via East Lothian!

Have a great weekend!

Israel "IK" Kamakawiwo 'Ole ~ Somewhere over the rainbow (over 67 million hits on youtube)

"Somewhere over the rainbow

Way up high

And the dreams that you dreamed of

Once in a lullaby ii ii iii

Somewhere over the rainbow

Blue birds fly

And the dreams that you dreamed of

Dreams really do come true ooh ooooh

Someday I'll wish upon a star

Wake up where the clouds are far behind me ee ee eeh

Where trouble melts like lemon drops

High above the chimney tops thats where you'll find me oh

Somewhere over the rainbow bluebirds fly

And the dream that you dare to,why, oh why can't I?"
