"i am the walrus"

View On Black

Another offering from my morning at Dunstanburgh Castle with Mick Ridley & Mick Halliday. This image was captured around 45 minutes after my "hell ain't a bad place to be" shot. As you can clearly see there was still loads of beautiful colour left in the sky!

I managed to incorporate more of the wet death rocks in this image by positioning myself around some rocks and then letting the incoming tide do her damage! So as Mick (H) recommended this place is definitely easier to shot on an out going tide as then you have more wet rocks, which reflect the light so beautifully!

My title was inspired by the big rock in the surf, it reminded me of a walrus with its triangular shaped head. Incidentaly I was down the coast after this shot and actually saw a seal by the rocks at Old Hartley! Unfortunately I still had my 10-20mm lens on the camera so it was impossible to capture the seal bobbing about in the sea! It's so nice to see these guys in the wild and not at a sealife type centre.

Well I've got a clear case of Monday blues what with just returning today after two weeks off! Very hard to find the motivation to emerse yourself when your head is full of compositions, locations, circle of confusion, DoF & PoV thoughts ;o)

Have a great week and be safe!

P.S. Please make sure to stop by Mick Halliday & Mick Ridley photosteams!

"I am the walrus" ~ By The Beatles

"I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.

See how they run like pigs from a gun, see how they fly.

I'm crying.

Sitting on a cornflake, waiting for the van to come.

Corporation tee-shirt, stupid bloody Tuesday.

Man, you been a naughty boy, you let your face grow long.

I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.

I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob."
