David - Portrait
Part of the 52 Weeks of 2017
Theme: Single Light Portrait
With the week's theme being a portrait, I was keen to produce something good using flash that wasn't a self-portrait.
Luckily I found a willing subject, my actor friend David, who'd I'd chatted to about head shots a while ago.
We spent a little time chatting about his previous head shots and then got going. We started indoors with this setup, black cloth background, flash through a shoot-through umbrella camera right fired by wireless triggers. As we got into the swing we changed the jacket, shirt, background, switched to a softbox, lenses and then to provide a variety of other shots for David to use, we added a reflector and did some with natural light and outdoors too (which I'll post later). But this shot is just flash through a brolly, nothing else for light.
It was a good session, I'm glad David agreed to help, hopefully the shots will be useful for him too.
