Ha! I know I know! I need to get a label for it sorted out and that's holding me up...

Hi Alissa - I have just started my first stipple project after seeing how nice your quilts look on flickr. The parts that I have stippled are now really stiff. Does this soften after you wash the quilt or do the quilts that you have quilted this way remain stiff ?

Hi Rocklilly! Thanks so much for your kind words about my quilts! I'd say that I do meandering quilting more than stippling, which is really just a difference in the size of the quilting... stippling is denser and smaller and therefore makes the quilt stiffer because there's more stitching all over it. I do think that your quilt will definitely soften up and become less stiff with a wash and some general use. But if you want to it be less stiff, in the future just make the quilting a bit bigger and less dense... if that makes sense?

Thanks for your reply. Makes perfect sense. I blew the gear on the sewing machine.....maybe I should just stick to hand quilting.

What kind of machine do you use? Are you happy with it?
