Tokyo Dome Reflected in Naitei; Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens, Tokyo

I was out with Jono, one of my students, today and he took me to a garden I had not been to before; Koishikawa Korakuen. I'd been past it dozens of times, looked down onto it even more but this was the first time for me to go inside. Great place, some stunning nature and a few really choice views like this.

The traditional Japanese garden with the modern architecture; so Tokyo.

There really was nothing else for it than to shoot this as an HDR; the dynamic range from the light on the top of the white dome to the deep shadows in the trees was about ten stops. No way you can get that with one shot, unless - maybe - you are Ansel Adams, pushing your processing skills to the limits with black and white film.

I may post the colour one of these but to be honest, with a 7-shot bracketed series and such a high-dynamic range, it was really hard to get it looking natural enough for my tastes. It seemed to look so much nicer in mono.
