Lagos, Nigeria

Wow, it's almost as if the color is sucked out of nearly every building. I wonder if that's pollution, or if paint's a luxury.

Koolhaas made a similar shot with the helicopter of the president of Nigeria:

    Hi,

I'm working for a french NGO and we are currently writting a publication on climate change and developpment in Africa.

Do you think it would be possible to use your pic in order to illustrate our work?

If you need more info, let me know.

    Many thanks in advance,,

    Sincerely,

Good point 'listontoreason' - though I'd hate to admit it but 'Al Gillman' has a point. The real explanation however is the ineptitude of the town planning authorities. Aesthetics was not necessary seen as a big priority and thus the resultant picture: That's slowly changing though.

If one was to make judgements by first impression then .M.Miranda's comment qualifies him/her as ignorant. Lagos is not the most ideal city, but is by no means a sad place.

I love Nigeria. No other place called home.

FYI: so many nice places in Nigeria and in fact, Lagos. If you're in doubt, visit!
