Tai O Chung Parade 大澳遊涌

Tai O is a small village on the West side of Hong Kong. There are three small chungs (small river) in a shape of "Y" and all the houses are built along the chungs. During the Dragon Boat Festival, three small boats dragged by three Dragon Boatsrespectively will parade along the chungs throughout the Tai O.

Inside the small boats, there are God statues, Ancestral board or a Chinese halberd; all these stuff are took from various temples in the Tai O one day before the Festival. To respect the God, nothing can above these small boats and hence the bridge must be "opened" when the boats cross below the bridges. Villages believe this custom can remove bad luck and bring good luck to the village.
