One of two spotted hyena pups we saw on the side of the road when we were driving to our lodge in the Serengeti. The mother was in close attendance while other members of the clan were also close by. The rest of my family thought they were really cute but I can’t get out of my mind that they will soon turn into one of the biggest & scariest animals other there.
This was right on the minimum focus distance of my lens (3.5m, the lens being a Canon EF 400mm f/5.6 L USM lens, on hire from the good folk at LensesForHire). So the only cropping is to the sides to convert to 5:4.
