pre-blocking. And ya know, with part of my stash on my dining room table as a backdrop.
It feels good to have these (finally!!) off the needles and to have made something for myself. And I must confess that knitting these was a nice break from knitting baby garments :)
I love 'em. I could see turning to this pattern again sometime. And I
honestly can't believe that I like the colorway of this yarn. It has -
*gasp* - pink in it. But I really do love everything about these socks, especially
the fit. It's nice having small feet :)
Now on to dreaming and scheming for Elinor's contest....
Oh! and completely unrelated to socks but exciting nonetheless:
My summer plans have changed! And it's exciting!
Turns out only one class I need for my master's is being offered in Juneau this summer, so I'm only going to be there for the month of June. Rather than stay and work and pay rent for the rest of the summer, I decided I'd rather pay money to travel to the Lower 48 (dear God get me out of Alaska for a little bit this year!). So far I'm looking at Atlanta, possibly Massachusetts, Chi-town, and of course various parts of Michigan. I'm really happy with the way things worked out. I think I'm gonna need more of a summer vacation than I was originally going to allow myself. Of course, spending time with friends and family on the other end of the continent is always a good thing, too. :)
