Subject : Ridiculous pointless euphemisms about the Tottenham Riot
Dear Mr Crompton,
I noticed on the planning page on Haringey's website that the move of Planning from 639 High Road Tottenham to River Park House is said to be: "Due to the incidents in Tottenham".
As I'm sure we all know, there were no "incidents in Tottenham". Nor were there "disturbances" or "upsets". And before someone reaches for their thesaurus, there weren't any "tremors", "flutterings", "interruptions", or "agitations".
As you know perhaps better than most other people, what happened was a riot, with violence, looting and arson.
Can we just for once, on a matter of this importance, ask officers to tell the truth without spin.
