Breaking with tradition - new tent new tequila
Bought a new tent - the Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2 (REI dividend and 20% off coupon). Lots more room for a little more weight. New Tequila this trip - got a great deal on the Partida Anejo so left the Herradura Anejo at home for another day. New boots - Vasque Breeze. Lowa stopped making my favorite boot so I had to find new boots - very happy with these. Same old Osprey pack and bridgedale socks. Life can be so simple sometimes. Some will be disappointed with me for using titanium tentstakes - I just can't fight progress.
And no matter how primitive, we must have great Tequila to truly appreciate life.
Oh yeah - this is at Lee's Ferry campground just west of the Paria creek confluence. Downstream from Glen Canyon Dam. This is some of the best trout fishing in Arizona.
While I'm at it, here are some of my thoughts on Tequila. I know there are better, but these are in my price range. And these I'm happy taking camping. The finer stuff requires a special setting.
El Tesoro Blanco a fine little Highland Tequila to warm up the taste buds for more serious stuff.
Partida Anejo - one of my mainstays. Love the Lowland Tequilas.
Herradura Anejo - the one I always come home to. Love the Lowland Tequilas.
Gran Centenario Anejo - a very special Highland Tequila.
Chinaco Anejo - also a very special Highland Tequila.
And a close relative - Bacanora from Sonora. Not easy to buy for me, so I savor it.
