These images were taken before and during a gate failure study conducted by Georgia Power. The U.S. Geological Survey participated by instrumenting several locations with pressure transducers in advance of the study. The day before the release, the flow in the river was less than 10 cubic feet per second (CFS). During the study the dam release was around 1,500 CFS.
