Vejle, Denmark

The picture was taken at midnight during our trip around europe following the FIFA World Cup Germany 2006.

Vejle is a town in Denmark, in the southeast of the Jutland Peninsula at the head of Vejle Fjord, where the Vejle and Grejs Rivers and their valleys converge. It is the site of the councils of Vejle Municipality (kommune) and the Region of Southern Denmark. The city itself has a population of 51,341 (1 January 2011), making it the 9th largest city in Denmark, and the Municipality has a population of 107,218 (2011).

Vejle Municipality is part of the East Jutland metropolitan area with some 1.2 million inhabitants. The city is also part of an informal region called the Trekantområde (Triangle Area), which consists of Vejle and the neighbouring cities of Kolding and Fredericia.

Vejle is most known for its forested hills, fjord, harbour, shopping, pedestrian mall, and iconic windmill.
