Bell and Howell Regent 8mm

Projector for viewing family movies. Over the years we have been asking Dad to transfer the movies to VCR tape but now DVD seems like it would be a better choice. When he actually gets it done who knows what the format will be.

I like the way this projector burns the film at the end, I'm looking for that effect for the end of my movies.

I've got one of these. My sister and I went through our family movies, pointed a video camera at the screen, and made comments all through. Then copied them for all my siblings (8 total), many moons ago. We probably should do the same thing and do it digital. Maybe.

I like the idea of comments Matt, kind of like a family Mystery Science Theater 3000. *lol*

That is one fine relic, Kath.

What a wonderful old projector. I remember
those old days when we would watch jerky
little movies on these machines. Thanks for
    the memory.

I have the same projector, and I've had it for decades. The original bulb finally burned out on it when we were watching some old 8mm home movies. I looked on the Web & found a bulb part # DAR 120V 500 W @ Equipping The Saints web site (www.etsusa.org/lampd/DAR.htm#). I ordered 3 bulbs because they were only $7.95 each. I decided to take my projector apart and clean, inspect, and lube it. It now works great, and it was a pure joy working on such a classic old piece of equipment.
