Bell YOH-4A '24201' (really 62-4202)
The OH-4 was Bell's entrant in the 1960 LOH (Light Observation Helicopter) competition, which was eventually won by the Hughes OH-6.
The OH-4 was developed into the popluar Model 206, commonly known as the Jet Ranger.
Ironically, the '206' was later developed into the OH-58 Kiowa, which replaced the OH-6 in U.S.Army service.
Although built with the serial 62-4201, it was later discovered that this serial had already been allocated to a VC-140B Jetstar. It was therefore reserialled as 62-4202, although the serial was never changed on the airframe, and the aircrafts makers plate still states '62-4201'.
This issue actually applied to all of the competitors in the LOH competition and all were reserialled by one.
