Nacho, Stranger #19
I met Nacho in downtown Los Angeles a few weeks ago. His story was heartbreaking and it really made me think about how our city treats the homeless. Nacho lost his job at Chapel of Our Lady six years ago and he found himself living on the street in his seventies. Nacho said he's rather be on the street than in the shelters because of theft and drugs. It's sad to think the conditions are so bad in the shelters that Nacho would feel safer on the street.
