Ki Gompa

This is the part of trip I enjoyed the most. Ki Gompa is a few Km away from Kaza. very nice calm peaceful place on the top of a small hill (at about 13700 ft ASL). its an 800 year old monastery. the view of it, inside it, and from it overlooking the valley, all are awesome. you can also stay here in a room overnight to attend the morning worship.

when I reached there, there were no tourists. only Lamas were sitting, making some stuff with the mud (they were actually making a small scorpion, because it is considered sacred as a representative of earth, this is what I remember)

We got in conversation with one of the Lamas and he very cheerfully explained us all he could. he even took us to his room, gave us yak butter to taste, made tea for us and even washed our utensils (refusing the help we offered). the amazing simplicity with which this place greeted us is really memorable.
