On Valentine's day, my wife got me a lovely bouquet of flowers. One of the most wonderful ways to spend a late afternoon is with a macro lens, golden hour light, basking in the sensuality of roses. I love the curves and delicacy of the petals.
Now, normally, I set up a tripod and shoot with my 100mm macro lens. It's superb, but the work can be fussy at times. For this shoot, I pulled out my Tokina 35mm macro lens. The shorter focal length allowed me to shoot handheld. It also "forced" me to bury my nose in the wonderful scent of the bouquet. What a lovely late afternoon. I hope you like this series.
