AIE at Henderson
The AIE program pairs professional architects with classroom teachers
to provide traditional STEM learning with hands-on, project-based lessons.

During the course of eight weeks, volunteers taught over 30 fourth-graders, who were introduced to basic architectural concepts, different types of buildings, sustainability and place-making. Their lessons culminated in a final design project where students worked in teams to design an outdoor classroom pavilion. As part of their final project, they completed a programming questionnaire, an elevation sketch, a floor plan and parti models.
