Aheram, Meet Ron Paul

    Newer Older

Photography credit goes to Mr. Jeff Greenspan, regional coordinator for the Ron Paul campaign.

It was a three-hour drive. I made it in two hours. It was my first time in University of Southern California and I got lost a few times trying to find where this "Tommy Trojan" statue was. I called Jeff repeatedly asking where the shindig was. There, I was surprised to see a large crowd. About five-hundred or more, holding up Ron Paul signs. The mood was contagious and electric. Everyone was excited to see Ron Paul.

And then he came. People chanted, "Ron Paul! Ron Paul!" I said, "LIVE FREE OR DIE!" He delivered his speech and mingled with the crowd. His speech, I later learned, was entirely off-the-cuff. He was speaking from his mind. Unsullied by the need to impress, untainted by opinion of others. It was a speech that is a product of one man's integrity.

Jeff managed to guide me to a private fundraising event for Ron Paul. 500 dollars for people, 250 dollars for members of Meetup groups. There, I was able to meet Ron Paul and shake his hands. He signed my facsimile of the Constitution, his signature right there with the Founding Fathers. I talked to him and asked him a few questions.

He is the real deal. When he talks about the Constitution, his eyes light up.

I am inspired that he share the same reverence I have for the Constitution. He and I took similar oaths. I took an oath of enlistment and he took an oath of office. We both swore to protect and defend the Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic. And he understands what that means!

Ron Paul, Champion of the Constitution, Defender of Reason.

Far more prolific than i could ever be as always J-kun my experince was similar except that i didn't accually talk to the man, as i tend to be shy. but i did shake his hand so we're even there.
once you shake hands with Kinky Friedman, sell a hotdog to Willie Nelson or tel Alex Jones where the batterys are located..then maybe i'll say we're even ^_^

Glad to see you follow your passion to bring change to this country. You've got a unique perspective given your experiences, and though I'm not a RP advocate, I appreciate hearing your reasons for supporting him. I wonder why more people aren't standing up and shouting for respect for our true values as a country, including the constitution, and demanding better representation. Lazy? Complacent? The time is NOW!

Nature4Me: you are 100% correct. Complacency and laziness are it. Get of your couches people!

By the way, my video made it to Ron Paul's campaign website: ronpaul2008.com/snippets/63/ron-paul-in-san-francisco/

      thanx JL
I have been doing my research. although i greatly admire is defense of the constitution, and his stand against the war there are 2 issues so far that have stopped me from going further.
I am sorry to say not only could i not supprt DR. Paul. i would make every effort to make sure he was never elected again.
I was hoping there was finally a man of integrity emerging. all i found was another that would like nothing more than to shove his values on the rest of us.
In his defense i did recieve a personal email on the reason for some of his believes...which at least shows he is a man of integrity....even if intolerant.
I just believe we are living in 2007. It is time for all government officials to ensure the rights of all are protected...not just the people they think should be.
As i know this is a person you admire greatly I willl no longer make comments on this issue or this man. :-(
thanx for being so excited about the election....but i cannot say I hope he wins
