Snow Covered Agave, I

Another photo from my backyard during our recent snowfall. The diagonal line across the frame is from a wooden beam under the snow, not an artifact from processing. I liked the simplified and abstracted forms of this Agave nearly completely covered with snow. While the snow was certainly pretty, it also brought plunging temperatures which reached an all time record low for my area: -18F/-28C. Sadly, temperatures that low will likely mark the end for many of my Agaves. Hopefully the blanket of snow gave some insulation so I won't loose too many.

For anyone interested, this is an Agave parryi . . . the same one as in this photo
