27/100 Strangers Project | Rachel.
So, this is Rachel. I met Rachel on the Redline train traveling southbound in Chicago. I sat there right next to her for a while before I introduced myself. For some reason, I was really nervous. She was looking out the window enjoying her ride and I didn't want to disturb her. But, I went on and introduced myself and told her a little about the project. I was glad when she said she would be a part of it and took this picture.
A little about Rachel... She's 24 years old and works at Potbelly Sandwich Works in downtown Chicago on State Street. She was on her way there when this photo was taken. She's originally from Indiana but has been here (in Chicago) for the last year. Her favorite book is Til We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis. And, while she doesn't watch much TV, she loves to read for fun.
You know, she joked about the look on her face in this photo. But, I told her that her serious look was kind of cool. And, actually there is a very slight curl to her mouth that provides a hint of a smile. I love it.
Anyway, many thanks to Rachel for allowing a stranger in her life, if only for a few minutes. For more information about the project and photos from other photographers, please visit www.100strangers.com.
