Giordano Bruno

The pope killed him because this guy was a scientist like Galileo and his ideas were "taboo". So naturally, they burned him at the stake while he was alive. When Italy became its own democratic country, the city of Rome built this statue facing the Vatican to remind the church of its past crimes and why people should have democracy. An apology is better late than never, right? Even if it's 200 years later...??
