Zucotti Park 21
Protesting stock options. A lovely man who was delighted we wanted to take his photo. He was the last person we spoke to having done a complete circuit of the park a few times.
I found Occupy Wall St an interesting place. I think the comparisons to movements like the Civil Rights movement, apartheid, the Arab Spring, the Vietnam war - all of these seem completely over the top. Occupy Wall Street had none of the focus or determination of those. In my view, anyone who puts Occupy Wall St in the same category as those noble pursuits does the former a great disservice.
This day, Occupy Wall Street was a collection of disgruntled voices, a babble of random discontent rather than a single cry of defiance.
The people we spoke with or observed seemingly had no answers for their malcontent, no policies to enact nor an oppressor to overthrow.
Less movement, more message board. Just my 2 cents.
