GMV Channel 6

Television station GMV-6 commenced transmission on 23 December 1961, being one of the first regional television stations in Australia. These were their Shepparton studios, which would have been a big deal in their day (this is not the original façade). GMV-6 made many of its own programmes from within this complex (including local news) as well as reciving programmes from HSV-7 and GTV-9 in Melbourne.

In 1992, the Shepparton television market was "aggregated" and Channel 6 merged with BTV-6 Ballarat and STV-8 Mildura to form a new larger station (VTV-6). Eventually the lot was purchased by WIN-4 Wollongong and became part of the WIN Network, whereby all local television production ceased.

Today GMV-6 is just a relay station and the studios sit idle, slowly falling apart.
