Fluke 8060a recapped and LCD fixed
I bought this old Fluke 8060a from a retired radar engineer who kept it as his backup DMM. It has had very little use since new in 1985 and hence was almost fully functional. Here shown after cleaning of the LCD zebra strip and fitting new electrolytes. I'm grateful for all the advice from Dave, the designer of this venerable multimeter designed in the early 80's, which he shared and still follows up on the long thread on EEV Blog and to everybody else who has offered advice on the thread, including Mr. Modemhead, who has blogged about his experiences repairing 8060's. And of course to the guy who decided to part with his backup "Rolls Royce of multumeters".
