52.26: Moving Day
I took this shot on the day that the moving van came to 549 Turnpike Road and loaded what remained of the contents of the house I grew up in. This was a monumental day of stress and sadness for my mom, who had moved exactly one time in her entire life, in 1964, when she came to this country from England.
I had waves of sadness too but mainly I was excited that my mom is starting a new beginning with us in PA. She has a cute little cottage in a retirement village that is a mere 5 minutes from my house. What a joy to move into a place where everything is NEW!
I know that this transition is going to take a while for my mom--she's used to being the smartest person in the room and large and in charge--but I'm hopefull that she can make a new and different life here.
