Our Homeless Guy
An uncurated look at Portland:
I suppose it was only a matter of time before the rising tide of poverty, misery, despair and untreated mental illness in America reached our very own doorstep.
We returned from a trip yesterday to find that a homeless guy has taken up residence on most of the sidewalk by our condominium's outdoor parking lot.
What to do? Ignore him, and we risk having our residential street become a homeless encampment like the ones we see in so many other parts of town.
The police say they'll come dislodge him - some day - if we file a complaint. So we're going to do that and hope it works.
