Northwind Perennial Farm 2009
In 1991, a trio of friends and business partners, Steve Coster, Colleen Garrigan and Roy Diblik discovered this 10 acre farmstead tucked away in the rolling hills of southeastern Wisconsin. By combining their talents and maintaining the spirit and character of the old farmstead, they knew that they had the opportunity to create something uniquely different.

Years later, Northwind Perennial Farm is a local landmark and a premier destination spot for gardeners and lovers of nature alike, offering an uncommon selection of hardy field-grown perennials, native plants, ornamental grasses, shrub roses, garden accents and landscape design services. With their thoughtful stewardship, Steve, Colleen and Roy have carefully nurtured the farm's connections to the past. With their distinctive style, they have added to its rich history.

When you visit Northwind Perennial Farm, you are benefiting from more than 80 years of combined experience in horticulture ~ experience that we are happy to share.

Roy Diblik is passionate about growing plants of garden value, cultivating over a half-million perennials annually. He has received much acclaim because of his involvement with the Lurie Garden at Chicago's Millennium Park. Working closely with the designers for this project, Roy grew and installed 15,000 plants for this famous garden. Most recently, he designed and installed a 5,000 plant perennial garden to create a stunning entryway to the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, WI.

Steve Coster runs the landscape design and installation division. His talents can be witnessed in the stone walls and paths that wind throughout Northwind. He uses only natural and native materials that fit with the environment. His choice of trees and shrubs, which are both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally correct, make walking through Northwind all the more lovely.

Colleen Garrigan runs the garden shop and her artistic flair is demonstrated in every corner of Northwind. Her keen eye for selecting the beautiful and unique planters, fountains, wrought-iron pieces and other garden art sold in the shop and her talent for displaying these pieces will delight and inspire you.
