Studio Awareness Week - Neon Fireworks

Another photo from Hollywood Studios in celebration of Studios Awareness Week. Today we have a great post on WDW Photography from Tom Bricker showing some of the great neon photo opportunities at the Studios. So figured today I would post a neon shot myself to stick with the theme.

For those interested in how to pull off this effect: First of all, be sure your camera is set on a tripod. Then you will want the shutter speed to be at least one second long, though experiment with different settings. Once the shutter has opened you will want to zoom out which will give the effect of the lights coming at you. There is no set shutter speed or how fast you should zoom, it really becomes trial and error. I took about a dozen different shots of this building and then picked what I liked best after. I also ended up taking one normal shot (without zooming) so the words on the sign could be read. I copied that normal image into Photoshop with the zoomed image and used a mask on just the letters of that sign.

Have a great day
