Alphonsea maingayi Hook.f. & Thomson. Annonaceae. CN: [Malay - Pisang-pisang batu, Pepisang bukit, Mengkudang, Terbak]. Native to Peninsular Malaysia. Habitat - lowland forest in Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor and possibly Singapore. Moderate size with black bark and spreading branches. The crushed twigs and cut bark produce strong cucumber smell. Fruit tasted sweet and palatable.
