Citharexylum spinosum L. Verbenaceae. CN: [Malay - Bunga mayang sari, Benang sari, Bunga sari, Bunga harum sundal malam (also sharing common name with Polianthes tuberosa L.), Bunga sedap malam], Spiny fiddlewood, Jamaican fiddlewood, Fiddlewood, Florida fiddlewood. Native of Florida, Caribbean, northern South America; elsewhere cultivated as ornamental and for its fragrant flowers. A treelet that reaches a height of up to 15 m. Leaves ovate to elliptic ca 4–20 cm long; orange petioles. Small white flowers are produced throughout the year on hanging axillary and terminal racemes and panicles 20–40 cm in length. The fruits are red to black subglobose drupes 7–10 mm in diameter.
