Close-up of fruits. Sauropus androgynus (L.) Merr. Phyllanthaceae, also placed in Euphorbiaceae. CN: [Malay - Taruk manis, Asin-asin, Cekur manis], Star-gooseberry. Native to China, India, Sri Lanka, Indo-China, Malesia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines). Cultivated as vegetables. In folk medicines, paste prepared from pounded leaves and applied to nipples and areolas of lactating mothers to increase milk.
