Bassem Tamimi, Nabi Saleh, West Bank, 16.04.2012

Bassem Tamimi, in his home in Nabi Saleh, April 16, 2012.

After more than a year in an Israeli military prison, he received a 48 hour permit to visit his mother in the hospital due her deteriorating health condition. Bassem Tamimi, one of the leaders of the Popular Committee in Nabi Saleh, was arrested on March 24,2011 during a military raid on his home. In his trial, still taking place in the Israeli military court, the main accusation of the state attorney relies on the testimony of a 14 year-old from Nabi Saleh, who was taken from his bed at gunpoint on the night of January 23rd.
