Mass Production ? .....

...... well, it certainly feels like it with my third hot air balloon cake topper!

This one is a little different though as it is bigger .... 6" tall as opposed to 4" ...... and was made for the first time by covering a polystyrene ball with Artista Soft. Curiously enough I found "bigger" more difficult to do!

This is for Will's Uncle Rupert who, when he saw the one on top of Will's christening cake, requested one to go on his own birthday cake next week.

Rupert, you may remember, is a lovely young man with Down's Syndrome. His real birthday is actually on Boxing Day (Dec 26th) but like our Queen he celebrates with an "official" birthday on June 26th instead ! This year though it is being held a little later as Will's Christening rather got in the way!

Rupert goes daily to Parchment Trust, a Co-operative for young adults with learning and physical disabilities and will celebrate with a barbecue at his parents house for about 30 of the students and staff.

Parchment Trust is a wonderful facility and it is always a great privilege to be amongst these delightful and inspiring young people and their devoted teachers.

The figure in the basket is meant to be Rupert ..... I didn't forget the hair ..... Rupert lost all his when he was a small boy.

Here is Rupert with his 30th birthday cake:
