Look what the Fairies did to my little tree last night while I was asleep ............. !!! ;o)))

....... or was it Santa's Elves?

Just to show you what else you can do with your snowflake tree.

I think this would look nicer with all silver balls but I ..... sorry, the Fairies ...... only had a small amount of multi coloured ones!

WARNING! This is only for people with a ridiculous amount of spare time on their hands and nothing better to do with their lives ....... those little balls are SO tricky to stick in place ...... I think they're possessed !!!!

Hi Sarah Jane ...... here's how to make the snowflake tree :
With the PME snowflake plunger cutter I cut out of Mexican paste 2 large, 2 medium and two small flakes and made a hole in the middle of them to take a piece of raw spaghetti when I assembled it.

Once the flakes were dry and hard I pushed a piece of raw spaghetti into the cake and threaded on to it a pea sized ball of paste. I put a little blob of royal icing on top of this as glue then threaded on one of the large flakes. I just then repeated this alternating flakes and balls of paste with the flakes getting smaller as it built up. The balls of paste keep the flakes apart.

As you stack them ,rotate the flakes a bit so the "branches" are staggered. Finish off the top with a cone of paste and mark it with tweezers.

You can then dust it with glitter and add the star and little dragees if you wish.

If you don't want spaghetti down the centre of your trees then make the balls slightly flattened and let them dry. You can then build the trees up as before but let each layer dry before you add the next one or the whole lot could keel over!

Having said that, they really aren't difficult to do!

Hope you can understand all this ..... good luck!

    Chris
