Barlaston Station

A return visit some 2 years since the first. The most notable change at Barlaston is that the platform edge has been removed on the 'Up' line platform.

Barlaston station served the Staffordshire on the WCML branch from Norton Bridge to Manchester. The station opened on 17 April 1848.

Although the station is not 'technically' closed trains no longer stop at here or at nearby Wedgwood. The stations were served by the Stafford to Stoke-on-Trent local service which was withdrawn when the route was 'modernised' in 2003 as part of the WCML Modernisation scheme.

Until 2010 it was possible access the platforms, but since then a fence has been erected preventing any access.
