The last day of summer
This is my first offering with my new lens, the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8. First off, I wanted to say that I'm loving this lens. I was unhappy with the sharpness of my 18-105mm for shots like this, and it's nice to have something that is almost as sharp as my 50mm prime, and still really wide on my D90.
I saw that I had a whole Sunday free a couple of weeks back, a rare occurrence for me, so I took the opportunity to try it out. It was supposed to be rainy that day (of course), but it actually turned out to be really nice. So, I spent the whole afternoon down at Alki shooting long exposures with it and my new ND110 filter. When the tide came in, I headed over to Golden Gardens to shoot the sunset, including this shot.
I have a bunch of seascapes that I'll upload over the next week or two (with other shots mixed in so you don't get bored), but wanted to put up one of my favorites first.
Looks best large on black.
