Grandpa's Wagon 1889
My grandfather, Howard Michael is the little boy poking his head through the flap in the side of the wagon in Pocatella, Idaho.
According to verbal history from various members of the family at age 3 Grandpa traversed in this vehicle from Iowa to Oregon with his parents and siblings.
Following notes provided by my aunt Marriane Michael:
Photo was taken in Pocatella Idaho summer 1889 (I think)
There was an election going on & one candidate asked G.pa Michael to drive around the town with a sign on the back of the wagon. The oxen (Tom & Jerry) were so huge, they attracted attention. They got $5.00 for the day's work. I don't know what the family did while Gripa was driving around.
