I don't just sew, sometimes I solder and paint, too. I used to build these little guitar amps. Since getting my new Gretsch, I've been playing more and getting the itch to build some of the more esoteric vacuum tube circuits that I've been wanting to for quite some time.
This amp was converted from a beat-to-shit Heathkit CB-2 CB radio I found at Urban Ore for $5 (back before Urban Ore relocated and realized that there was a collector's market in old electronic junk).
It's now a single-channel 1W guitar amp with a pentode input stage, long-tail phase inverter, plate-varying tremolo, and a 12BH7 dual-triode configured as a Class AB push-pull output stage, with adjustable cathode bias (I don't have the equipment to measure for sure, but I think it can be biased up to full Class A operation).
