Stranger [86/100]: Tears of agony

Sumon, a handicapped beggar in GEC Circle came upto me gradually and asked for some help. We started talking and he told me how his father remarried after his mother's death and left him out to survive on his own.The worst turn took a couple of years back when he was hit over by a truck and was left at his own state in the middle of the road at almost midnight. A kind guard took him to the hospital,but it was too late to save his limb. I didn't realise he started crying while talking, the light was very low near there, and when I finally realised it after checking on my computer, I couldn't hold my own tears.


I think this is one of my most favorite portraits. And I dedicate this to Nayeem Kalam, the man who through his photos inspired me to get down to the streets. I hope you like this photograph.
