I have been somewhat overwhelmed with the variety of wildflowers surrounding me...and before photography, I never considered them more than a flash of color on the side of the road. In truth, they are remarkable...not only for the amazing variation in form and color, but for the microscopic environment each seems to provide for our minute insect friends.

Generally, I've tried to locate the this case, cursory research did not yield a clearly definitive result. Regardless, the field which harbored hundreds of these relatively tall plants was you can imagine from viewing the variation in hues - from cream to dark purple - on a single plant. In my opinion, one of the truly beautiful specimens I've encountered.
