    The growing popularity of Australian wines in the U.S. sadly resulted in an implosion of quality and explosion of crap. This brightly colored label offers just one example of the culturally-charged $10 bottles that flood our markets while the finer wines become harder and harder to locate.

      All of our crap beer and wine gets exported.

      We drink the rest.

      Very true. And I have no problem with limiting exports on a country's best wines. But I really resent the way the American wine market is presenting Australian wines-- this stuff misrepresents general quality and ensures that Australian wines aren't being taken seriously. This wasn't always the case; I've noticed a major step back in the last three years or so. I have no idea why.
