We got back today from a nice weekend in Iceland. My second trip to Iceland, and I was determined to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights this time. The last time I tried (back in 2009) it was cloudy all 3 nights I was over there.
Fortunately I got lucky this time, very lucky. This is literally the 2nd shot I took at the weekend, we'd wondered around Reykjavik for a while and I dragged Cathy out to hunt the lights.
Not the best the lights picture (those are yet to come, from the 2nd night), but I really like how I got the moonrise here as well as the lights.
Ooh and I have to take my hat off to the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 lens. It's the best lens i've ever used, pin-sharp, super-fast and just lets in light like there's no tomorrow. Should be on the top of any Nikon (FX) owner's list.
