Travis AFB CA: Senior Airman Justin K. Ritzel an Interventional Radiology (IR) Technician is this month's Works with Airmen selectee. SrA Ritzel will show Colonel Joel D. Jackson, Commander 60th Air Mobility Wing some of the intrical parts of his training. Col Jackson assisted Amn Ritzel in setting up the tools and prepping the patient for surgery at David Grant Medical Center, Travis AFB, CA. (Major) Dr. Andy Thoreson performed the procedure and lead the Interventional Radiology team. Team members who participated in the procedure also included Dr. Trevor Thompson, MSgt Paulina Christensen, SrA Christopher Windom, SrA Dennis Rizzo, Nurses Nikki Augustin, Christine Nelson, Robert Saunders, and Jennifer Cortellessa. The IR team's goal is to kill cancerous tumors by delivering a payload of chemotherapy and Microscopic spheres directly into the cancer by using arteries.
