Bombing of Minsk, Belorussia, June 1941

Children watch as their neighborhood is bombed in Minsk, Belorussia. The operation was part of operation Barbarossa, and within four days Minsk would be occupied by Wehrmacht. Over 1,000 civilian lives were lost during the air raids, due in part to Minsk's poorly organized air defense system.
