St Peter, Hartshorne
An attractive little village church, tower and chancel dating from the c15th, the main body from the 1830s, and the aisle from the 1902-03 restoration by Bodley. I am completely indebted to Jane Horan's 2014 compilation of extracts from contemporary issues of the parish magazine 'The Restoration of Hartshorne Church 1902-1903' for the fascinating and invaluable detailing of the progress of the restoration, the superhuman efforts of the rector Rev. Richard Reade in raising finance, and the involvement of Bodley.
