1940s vintage "Nathan Strong" silk dress

For 'fancy Friday' recently, I was jazzed up in this new-old treasure, an original 1940s dress I bought from The Holding Company Vintage Shop in Burbank, Ca. I had given it a good soak in RetroClean and mended some holes first, and now - omg, the details!! The tag says "Nathan Strong", and so that means it's a high end brand dress, evidenced right away by the invisible metal zipper in the side seam. It has a giant bow at the neckline to the novelty print silk crepe bodice. The skirt has the most graceful draped pockets, and wonderful pleating. My hat is a true vintage find from in town, shoes are Aris Allen brand, and both finish off my outfit for an episode of today's 'glamorous front porch break for fresh air'.
