Cinnamon French Toast

Man I take bad pictures.

 

Anyway, I cook a week's worth of breakfast foods at a time for the kids' breakfasts. Makes life so much easier in the mornings, not to mention cheaper, and way better than the processed crap in the freezer section at the store. Last week it was waffles, this week it's french toast.

 

Lately, I've taken to buying heartier bakery loaves of bread for this (NOT crusty bread though - this week I made the mistake of asking Jason to buy the bread, and he got Italian.. *sigh*). I slice the loaf up the night before, let the bread get a bit stale overnight, and then soak them in the egg/milk mixture and cook them up all at once for the week. Then the kids just grab one in the morning and pop it in the toaster or microwave to warm it up.

 

I usually alternate between adding cinammon, honey, or a nutmeg/cinnamon/ginger spice mix to the custard for different flavors.
